Even if guests have their own vehicle with them, we understand the stress of navigating an unfamiliar city, and having to find and pay for parking. We provide complimentary shuttle service to and from medical appointments. The Cross Cancer Institute Volunteer Association offers a shuttle specifically for appointments at the Cross, and we provide transportation when additional support is needed.
Yes! Every room can accommodate one adult companion. We ask that your companion is able to manage their own needs and responsibilities independently. This allows both you and your companion to focus on creating a supportive and healing time at the House.
Standard suites have room for 1 companion at an additional fee of $10/night. The Suncor suite has room for up to 3 additional companions at no additional fee.
Meals are not provided, and guests are responsible for preparing their own food. Our spacious, fully equipped kitchen has everything you need and is designed to accommodate multiple guests cooking at once. Each guest is also provided with designated fridge, pantry, and freezer space.
The kitchen is fully stocked with dishware, cutlery, utensils, cookware, bakeware, and small appliances including a toaster, blender, air fryer, rice cooker, panini press, griddle, crockpot, and Instant Pot.
There are also many restaurants a short drive away, plus food delivery apps that can deliver meals from hundreds of Edmonton restaurants.
Yes, every suite includes a private bathroom. All of our rooms have showers and one room has a tub-shower combo. We also have two rooms with barrier-free washrooms.
If you have accessibility requirements, please let us know at the time of booking.
All of our guests are undergoing cancer treatment and, as such, have weakened immune systems. We are dedicated to keeping all our guests healthy and safe, and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the House. Our full-time cleaning staff regularly clean and sanitize all common areas, and each room is thoroughly cleaned between guests.
We also follow cleaning and sanitizing protocols in shared spaces like the kitchen, and encourage guests to give one another space if they are feeling unwell.
We’re here for you
We know that being away from home while receiving treatments can be incredibly difficult. That’s why our team is here for you 24/7 – not just to support your stay, but to offer a listening ear, a friendly face, and a sense of comfort whenever you need it.
Whether you have questions, need a hand, or simply want someone to talk to, we’re here to help make your time at Compassion House feel a little easier.

Together, we can make a difference for women facing cancer.
Your generosity supports women who must travel to Edmonton for cancer treatment and provides comfort, connection, and care when they need it most.
