The CALM Club (Compassionate Allies Leading Monthly) was inspired by the words of a former guest who described Compassion House as her "safe place and calm in the storm." Those words stayed with us.
CALM is a safe place to stay, a sense of stability during an uncertain time, and a community that surrounds with care.
Sorrentino's Compassion House strives to turn fear into hope and loneliness into comfort. And you can be part of that transformation.
By becoming a member of The CALM Club, you offer ongoing support that provides more than just a place to stay. You give women a home away from home, filled with care and compassion.

Choose your monthly impact
Make monthly donations in an amount that works for you. The automatic and secure monthly installments make it easy to budget charitable contributions.
To help show the impact of your support, we’ve outlined a few examples of what monthly donations can provide. While these are meaningful ways your gift can make a difference, all donations are directed to the areas of greatest need, so that we can continue to support our guests in the ways that matter most.
Gift of caring
For $20/month, support in-house wellness activities, including crafts, yoga, games, and educational workshops that foster connection, learning, and well-being.

For $50/month, create the thoughtful touches that help guests feel at home, including handmade quilts, coffee bar supplies, and family pantry items.

For $75/month, provide transportation through our shuttle van, helping guests access medical appointments without added stress or expense.

Frequently asked questions
There’s no “better” way to give. Whether you choose to donate monthly or make a one-time gift, your support makes a meaningful difference. Monthly donations simply allow you to spread your giving over the year while providing us with a dependable base of support. Ongoing contributions help us plan ahead, weather uncertainties, and continue providing essential services.
When you sign up online, your monthly gift is processed through the credit card of your choice on the 15th of every month.
To make a change to your account, including the donation amount, your credit card number, contact information, or to cancel your gift, please email us at donations@compassionhouse.org or call 780-425-7224.
In January, our organization consolidates your annual monthly donations and sends you a single tax receipt by mail.
CRA requires a current mailing address to be issued a tax receipt.

Compassion House Foundation spends approximately 12% of its annual budget on management and administration. The majority of every donation goes directly toward supporting guests and the day-to-day operations of Sorrentino’s Compassion House.
We publish our donor names each year in our Annual Report, and on our website.
All donations can also be made anonymously at the time of donation. If you do not wish to be listed, just contact us at donations@compassionhouse.org, or call 780-425-7224.
Compassion House Foundation is committed to protecting your right to privacy and protecting your personal information. We protect all personal information collected and adhere to all legislative requirements with respect to protecting privacy.
We do not collect personal information such as names and email addresses unless you knowingly provide that information. We do not sell, trade, or rent any personal information. The personal information that you share will be used to solicit support, issue tax receipts, and keep donors informed about Compassion House events and activities through periodic contact.

Simple everyday actions, like shopping, recycling, or giving items you no longer need, can add up in meaningful ways. It’s an easy way to make a difference as part of your regular routine.
In-kind donations
We accept many in-kind donations at Sorrentino’s Compassion House, including gifts for our guests such as quilts, knitted hats, wellness boxes, pantry items, and coffee supplies, as well as everyday essentials, like toilet paper.
