President

Ian B. MacDonald - Ian is a Partner at MNP in assurance services. Born and raised in Edmonton, he attended the University of Alberta, then Concordia University in Montreal where he worked for KPMG and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation. He and his wife Joanna have two daughters. In addition to work and volunteer time, Ian enjoys playing music in various groups.

Janet Riopel - Janet has deep roots in our community and considerable experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects. Through her consulting firm TREYL Communications Inc., Janet has worked in senior roles in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors for more than a decade. Janet has filled many roles on boards and her community service has brought her much recognition.

Treasurer

Kathy Bonazew - Kathy is a Partner at MNP. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Accountant, specializing in international taxation, in particular Canadian and US compliance and consulting. Kathy enjoys being an active volunteer and has served as a director and/or officer on a number of local and provincial boards. She and her husband Perry have four children.

Secretary
Sandra L . Corbett - Sandra is a partner with Field Law. She has practised in the civil and commercial litigation areas, and in particular, in insurance defence litigation, since being called to the Alberta bar in 1990. Sandra is extensively involved in the civil defence bar in Canada and a member of many professional associations.

John Cloutier - John owns Nordic Mechanical Services and believes in giving back to the community.

Grace Frey - Grace is a 34 year resident of Fort McMurray. Through her employment with a health, not for profit society, she was introduced and referred clients to Sorrentino’s Compassion House. Grace sits on volunteer boards and committees in Fort McMurray/regional municipality of Wood Buffalo. She feels fortunate that her family, along with four grandchildren, call Fort McMurray home. 


Maureen Leslie - Maureen lives in Grande Prairie with her husband and two children. She is a social worker and enjoys travelling, skiing and camping with her family. Living in a Northern Alberta community, Maureen understands the complexities women and their families are challenged with when planning for a stay in Edmonton for cancer treatment. She greatly appreciates the warm and supportive environment Sorrentino’s Compassion House offers to women.

Marilyn Mucha - Marilyn is a Director, Public Sector Client development at Deloitte. She is a graduate of the U of A (B.Comm) and worked previously in the oilfield service industry and with a US based software development firm. She is actively involved in the community as a Rotarian and with numerous not for profit boards. As a former Shumka dancer, Marilyn gained a thirst for travel and enjoys discovering new destinations. She is married with a grown son.


Tina Naqvi-Rota - Tina is a civil engineer and also holds an MBA. She is the Executive Vice President for Cameron Development Corp. Tina is a member of many professional associations and has been involved with and chaired various philanthropic and business-related boards and committees.

Gord Syme - Gord has been active in the not for profit and breast cancer communities for many years. After a long career with a major Canadian Bank, he is now at Conroy Ross. Gord and his wife, Marcie, have a grown daughter and enjoy sports, travel and great wine.


Kathy Trepanier - Kathy is a nurse by background with over 30 years of history in health care administration in Edmonton. She is currently working independently as a health care consultant.

Debra Wooding - Debra is a Vice President and Investment Advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy. She is in her 25th year of practice in wealth management primarily for business families, with a special interest in the area of Trusts. She chair’s CIBC Children’s Miracle Foundation, Edmonton. Debra runs a Sailing Camp for Kids at Argentia Beach on Pigeon Lake and is an avid hiker and skier. Debra and her husband Tom live in Edmonton and have six children and two grandchildren.
